The hardware collector and reviewer obtained photos of the Cannon Lake-Y, smaller electronic equipment compared to the Core i3-8121U, the sole processor discharged from the Cannon Lake series. The series launched in 2018 and was discontinued 2 years later. This was, in fact, the shortest-lived Intel design in the company’s history.
The electronic equipment has an uncommon 3-die config, that is totally different from the 2-die version officially discharged below the eighth information Core U-series. in line with some leaked datasheets for the Cannon Lake-Y series, the third die is McIVR, and it measures thirteen.72 mm².

It is not apparent what will “Special Samples” inscribed on the electronic equipment very means, however, it's clear that the electronic equipment had thermocouples hooked up for power and warmth testing.
The Cannon Lake series was solely on the market with two Palm Cove cores and launched completely for Crimson ravine NUC and later for a few low-power laptops. The engineering board pictured below is clearly not meant for NUC Mini-PC, and it's a small amount uncommon with such a tiny low electronic equipment within the center. However, these connectors were used for internal validation at Intel labs.
